Beautifully Surrendered: God's Heart for his Daughters Author: Love God Greatly Homework amount: Average 30-40 min/week Purchasing note: Leaders will put in a bulk order for the books in order to receive a group and shipping discount from the publisher. Description Life isn't always easy, but God is always with us and He is always good. In this six-week study, we will explore the stories of more than 30 women in the Bible and develop a deeper appreciation for the road they traveled as we begin to see their lives in a new way. Join us as we study these Old and New Testament stories using the SOAP Bible Study method (Scripture, Observation, Application and Prayer). Our group has loved this method, as it is akin to journaling, and allows us to dig deeper into the text and gain a much greater understanding than simply reading alone. We are excited to study the lives of these Biblical women and the God who never left their side. Spring Study: Grace: A Bible Study on Ephesians for Women Author: Keri Folmar Homework amount: Average 30-40 min/week Purchasing Information: Christos or Amazon Description From the foundation of the Old Testament, we know that grace is a part of God’s character. He is a loving and gracious God. In the New Testament, we learn about the role of grace in our faith and salvation. As we experience God’s grace in our lives and seek to be more like Jesus, we can have more grace with others. Having grace-filled hearts and lives prompt us to share God’s love. Join us as we study the concept of grace through a line-by-line reading of the book of Ephesians. We will use Keri Folmar's 10-week inductive Bible study to effectively guide us through a careful reading of God's Word. |

Esther: It’s Tough Being a Woman Author: Beth Moore Homework:This study was originally designed to be done in 9 weeks, asking for at least one hour per day - a pace that would be nearly impossible for medical spouses! Fear not: our small group leadership team loves to SLOW the pace so that we all have time to complete the work and participate deeply in discussion. We’ll stream videos at home and complete 2 or 3 lessons per week. Our best guess is that you’ll need 2-3 total hours per week to complete the study. The workbook provides lots of prompts that will have us digging into scripture to uncover meaning. Purchasing information: Christos and Amazon Description Beth Moore’s opening words in Esther ask, “What in the world am I doing here? And, Where in the world is God?” I think every woman who married a med student, resident, or physician asks this very question…especially if they’re experiencing their first Minnesota winter. Beth Moore wrote this study in 2008 saying, “if you’ve ever felt inadequate, threatened, or pushed into situations that seemed overpowering, this is the Bible Study for you. Just as it was tough being a woman in Esther’s day, it’s tough today. This portion of God’s word contains treasures to us in our hurried, harried, and pressured lives.” Moore’s study on Esther delves into the captivating story of courage, faithfulness, and divine intervention. Even though the story of Esther never explicitly mentions God, His hand is seen orchestrating events behind the scenes through every twist and turn. This study will encourage us all to trust more profoundly in the providence of the Lord, and stand with courage in the face of adversity, like Esther. |
