FRIDAY MORNING GROUPS
For because of our faith, he has brought us into this place of highest privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to actually becoming all that God has had in mind for us to be. Romans 5:2
This fall we will all be reading from the same book, Seamless. Through this study, we will aim to see the grand story of the Bible; who God creates people to be, the way that sin gets in the way of all of that, and the great lengths God went so that we could be restored.
In seven sessions, Seamless covers the people, places and promises of the Bible, tying them together into the greater story of Scripture. Participants will gain an overarching understanding of the fundamental layout and meaning of God's Word. Seamless helps replace insecurity that holds participants back with clarity and helping them move forward with confidence in their understanding of Scripture. Each week of study features key information that ties all of scripture together into the seamless truth of the gospel message and is accompanied by maps, general Bible facts, and word studies.

This year we will have seven small groups meeting weekly on Fridays from 9:30am-11:30am at Autumn Ridge Church. Each study will have an individual focus (and study book) for the spring semester. Below you can learn more about each of these studies and select the STUDY that interests you most.

Motherhood is hard. In a world of five-step lists and silver-bullet solutions to become perfect parents, mothers are burdened with mixed messages about who they are and what choices they should make. If you feel pulled between high-fives and hard words, with culture’s solutions only raising more questions, you’re not alone.
But there is hope.
You might think that Scripture doesn’t have much to say about the food you make for breakfast, how you view your postpartum body, or what school choice you make for your children, but a deeper look reveals that the Bible provides the framework for finding answers to your specific questions about modern motherhood.
Emily Jensen and Laura Wifler help you understand and apply the gospel to common issues moms face so you can connect your Sunday morning faith to the Monday morning tantrum.
Discover how closely the gospel connects with today’s motherhood. Join Emily and Laura as they walk through the redemptive story and reveal how the gospel applies to your everyday life, bringing hope, freedom, and joy in every area of motherhood.

Group 2: Fear/Anxiety, Looking to Overcome with God's Truth
by Love God Greatly
Led By: Marlene Murray, Heidi Sems
Care Leader: Megan Fogelson, Heidi Morris

Does life seem overwhelming at times? Do you struggle with sleepless nights? Are the “what if” thoughts invading your mind and robbing you of peace?

Are you looking for relief from the fear and anxiety that is filling your life and silencing your dreams of a better tomorrow? Make no mistake; fear is all around us. But that doesn’t mean we have to cower to it any longer. Fear is a bully, and it’s time we put it in its place! Fear is not allowed to have power over our lives any longer. In this six-week study, we will dig into God’s Word, from the Old Testament to the New, and discover what God says about fear and anxiety. We’ll learn how we can combat it through the power of His Word. No longer will we be slaves to our fears.

Though fear and anxiety will always be a part of our lives, we can learn how to take back control and not allow it to cripple us any longer. Looking to God for help, we will find the freedom our hearts are aching for and the peace our minds need. With God on our side and His Words in our hearts and minds, we will overcome!

Group 3: Entrusted: A Study of 2 Timothy
by Beth Moore
Led By: Julianne Hagan, Linda Kitaoka, Chantal O'Driscoll
Care Leader: Brittany Grieb, Kim Pritchett

We were never meant to take this journey of faith alone or in secret. God has entrusted us with the great and mighty gift of the gospel, something too precious and life-giving to keep to ourselves.

In this 6-session study of 2 Timothy, Beth will encourage you to guard what God has entrusted to you, further His kingdom by sharing Christ with others, and pour into future generations just as Paul once mentored Timothy. Because in this journey of joy and hardship, we need each other to stay the course and live lives of faithfulness.

Led By: Kristin Holmberg, Deb Kaczor, Bethany Bartlett
Care Leader: Britt Davis, Margaret Joseph

What did God use to draw a radical, committed unbeliever to himself? Did God take her to an evangelistic rally? Or, since she had her doctorate in literature, did he use something in print? No, God used an invitation to dinner in a modest home, from a humble couple who lived out the gospel daily, simply, and authentically.

With this story of her conversion as a backdrop, Rosaria Butterfield invites us into her home to show us how God can use this same “radical, ordinary hospitality” to bring the gospel to our lost friends and neighbors. Such hospitality sees our homes as not our own, but as God’s tools for the furtherance of his kingdom as we welcome those who look, think, believe, and act differently from us into our everyday, sometimes messy lives—helping them see what true Christian faith really looks like.

You are invited on a delectable pilgrimage to discover the secret to savoring every day.

The Psalmist declared, "Taste and see that the Lord is good" (Ps 34:8), so Margaret Feinberg, one of America's most beloved Bible teachers, decided to take the invitation literally. She embarked on a global culinary and spiritual adventure descending 410 feet into a salt mine, baking fresh matzo at Yale University, harvesting olives off the Croatian coast, and tasting succulent figs at a premier farm—all to discover the truth in such a simple verse.

With each person she encountered, she asked, "How do you read the Scripture in light of what you do every day?"

Their answers will change the way you read the Bible forever… and the way you approach every meal.

"This is a journey that changed my life, my faith, my future," she writes. "It moved me from fear and uncertainty to discover a renewed, vibrant faith again—and I believe it will do the same for you."

Group 6: The Dream of You
by Jo Saxton
Led By: Ethany Cullen, Sondra Grotz
Care Leader: Margie Loprinzi, Mary Lanier

Let’s be honest, the life you lead isn’t what you’ve always dreamt. And maybe the person you’ve become isn’t who you’ve always imagined. Sure, you can clean it up. You can work longer, love harder, and eat better. You can scrub the surface of your life until it gleams and still never address the fact that somehow you lost sight of who you really are and what you’re living for.

Is this the life you were meant to live?

As the child of Nigerian immigrants in the UK, author and speaker Jo Saxton knows firsthand how quickly the world can cause us to doubt our dreams and question who we are. She understands how easily we can exchange our true child-of-God selves for an identity built on lies, guilt, and brokenness.

Group 7: International Group
Led By: Rosie Thacher, Jessica Eickstaedt, Ariel Boswell, May Ling Chen, Myrna Holmes, HK Kim

The international class welcomes women from foreign countries with an interest in learning the beliefs of Christianity and seeking to improve their English conversational skills.

Is there a God? Can God be known? Who is Jesus?  What does the Bible teach?  If you have ever asked yourself any of these questions this class can help you find answers.

In each class we study Bible stories which lay the foundation of the Christian faith.  Additionally, we have an English lesson using a textbook whose primary purpose is to expand your vocabulary and improve your conversational skills. Time is given in small groups to practice your English.
