Service Opportunities
From small group service projects to steering committee, there are many ways to get involved serving in and with Side By Side. We would love to talk with you and see how your gifts and talents fit with our current needs. Please contact any Steering Committee member if you are interested in plugging into a service position. Below are some of the ways you can help.

How does one become a Steering Committee Member?
- Pray diligently for the ministry of SBS and all its women
- Coordinate activities of the morning group
- Make decisions on the focus and content of the ministry
- Administrate SBS according to their role
How does one become a Steering Committee Member?
- Proven to be responsible, organized, cooperative and a reliable team member in SBS
- Agree with the SBS Statement of Faith and with guidelines and expectations in the SBS manual
- Complete a Steering Committee Questionnaire
- Able to complete at least one year of service
- Actively pursuing a growing relationship with Jesus Christ with a solid knowledge of Scripture
- Accept role on SC with a servant’s attitude. Have a teachable spirit, and good conflict resolution skills
- Excited about this opportunity to serve and feel it is in line with God’s will for their lives
- Must be a medical spouse (i.e. wife of a medical/dental student, resident, fellow or consultant)
- SC members should be a ratio of 50:50: women whose husbands are in training (i.e. medical student, residency, fellowship) and those whose husbands have completed all training

- Plans equipping seminars within meetings to enhance each leader
- Receives book options for SBS-Morning
- Oversees leaders and book choices
- Communicates logistical information to be published in the Garden Gate
- Liaison between morning and night groups

- Coordinates with leadership chair
- Emails birth announcements

- Establishes dates for all SBS night social events
- Emails evite to SBS night members for social events
- Oversees all care leaders
- Utilizes care leaders to plan, implement, prepare and clean up for events
- Utilizes care leaders to plan and implement 3 services projects for all members (winter, spring, fall)
Treasurer: Vacant
- Handles registration payment
- Reimburses leaders for expenses incurred
