Fall Mini-Series (First Six Weeks): Bible Basics (Juli F.)
The statutes, the precepts, the promise, the sword, the Bible.….All names for the best seller we have somewhere in our homes.  It can guide our paths, pierce our hearts and minds, counsel us, and teach about the King of Kings.  Next fall we will do a quick overview of the entire Word of God so that our understanding is broader and we all have the big picture of what the Bible is all about.  Along with some facts we will explore why the Bible is living and active and so important in our daily lives.   I have spent much time in my life reading some amazing novels and non-fiction books and have, in fact, highly recommended several of them to others.  But nothing I have ever read even comes close to the Bible.  What it offers is life-changing.  Come and find out more!

GROUP CHOICES FOR REST OF THE YEAR:

The Amazing Collection is a workbook series focusing on main themes of scripture.  This year the Amazing Collection groups will be reading through the early Minor Prophets and later Minor Prophets. The companion workbook includes a study section for each book of the Bible in that set. The study section includes an outline of the teaching, maps and charts, questions for group discussion or personal meditation, and five daily lessons. Me, Myself & Lies
: Words are powerful. Especially the words women speak to themselves. All too often, what they say to themselves when they lie in bed at night or look in the mirror in the morning are not even close to the words God wants them to speak to their souls. According to Rothschild, what we think about often has a ripple effect on nearly every area of our lives.  Mom to Mom: Heart Talk is a biblically based parenting program designed around the Titus 2:4 concept of older women teaching and encouraging younger women in their relationship with their husbands and children.  Topics include, How to be a Mom and a person too, Fences and Flexibility: Setting Limits with Love, What Messages are Our Kids Getting?, Wonder Woman or Woman of Worth, A Christian Home: What Is It and How Do You Get It?Both studies involve a DVD session.

“This letter is truly the most important piece in the New Testament. It is purest Gospel. It is well worth a Christian's while not only to memorize it word for word but also to occupy himself with it daily, as though it were the daily bread of the soul.” Quote by Martin Luther, the theologian who initiated the Protestant Reformation.   While this group will not be memorizing the book, we will be pouring over it and seeking to understand issues such as Sin, Idolatry, Spiritual Gifts and Forgiveness.  Tim Keller of Redeemer Presbyterian Church put this particular study guide together.
